The Sabre is advertised as a superiority fighter with steatlh capabilities. Part of Aegis Dynamics’ Phase Two of new ship models, the Sabre was designed as a space superiority fighter for those situations where you need to leave a lighter footprint. Designed to be a rapid responder, the Sabre is more than capable of establishing battlefield dominance for any number of combat scenarios. I know: there is also a disclaimer and I'm fine with that. Yet its standard signature reduction is 20% while the Talon gets -30%. The only way for the Sabre to achieve optimal stealth is to replace its stock components and that means less shield HP. Grade A Size 1 stealth shield = 3060 hp, 346 hp/s regen, cooldowns 2.14 to 14s Versus: Grade A Size 1 military shield = 6120 hp, 306 hp/s regen, cooldowns 3.85 to 5.5s Notice how the stealth shield is already underperforming compared to the military shield: half the HP, 40 hp/s more for the regen but up to 14s cooldown... Hypothetically having a shield removed would reduce its survivability which defeats the purpose of "space superiority" and "battlefield dominance". To avoid that, the only option is to put one or two shields with stronger signatures which defeats the purpose of "light footprint": Space superiority and battlefield dominance >>> Denied if the ship doesn't have enough shield HP Lighter footprint >>> Denied if you have to put non-stealth shields in order to survive Its ability to roll is already getting reduced, harming a little more its subpar maneuverability. What would compensate the hypothetical loss of one of the very few advantages of the Sabre? More capacitors thanks to its powerplants? Or will it still be an underperforming fighter? EDIT: I know... I'm using 3.13 stats as references but the purpose of this post is what I call "the steatlh and superiority dilemma"
