Hello CIG friends, I am writing this question because I see a lot of people in the community concerned about the state of pyro after the recent livestreams. To summarize: In a recent livestream the Montreal team mentioned that they were not working on Pyro POIs. After this comment, viewers in the twitch chat asked for clarification as they were under the impression "that Pyro is basically done and just waiting for server meshing to be added into the game". Jared then responded (I am paraphrasing, so please forgive me) by saying that Pyro is not being worked on (seemingly at all), because they are waiting for the tech to get closer to finished before dedicating the team to finishing the system (in some sort of effort to have the required work line up with the tech being ready). I develop games for a living and like to think I am very understanding of things. I even respected the logic behind the explanation that Jared gave as its frankly very basic and makes sense. What does not make sense is why the team has seemingly (correct me if im wrong?) led us to believe for extended periods of time that Pyro was nearly finished. If anyone asked me, I would have said Pyro was at least 80-90% complete, with final work just on hold until server meshing is ready. Can developers with direct insight into Pyro elaborate on what the true state of Pyro is? It would be much appreciated by huge swaths of the community. Additional clarification points that the community would benefit from are: How complete is planet generation? Are most of the planetary locations finished? What state are the stations in? Note: I am not assuming anything on the part of CIG or team members, I am merely trying to get clarification as I know many people in the community are feeling very concerned and sideswiped by what was said.
