Hello CIG, In 4.0 it seems like ordnnance such as missiles, bombs, and torpedoes are uninsured, and therefore not returned when a ship is claimed. At a glance, this seems like a very interested design choice as it prevents many kind of tactics such as unloading torpedoes, or bombs, then claiming the ship to return them after a short wait, and adds for very interesting salvage gameplay such as retrieving torpedoes, missiles, etc to stockpile them. However there is a major factor that makes this an issue in 4.0, and that is ramming. Take for example a polaris, where in 4.0 its 28 size 10 torpedoes take 15,400,000 UEC to re-arm; A single razor (or certain other fighters), with exposed forward weapons, when ramming certain areas at full speed can immediately destroy the polaris, and its very expensive torpedoes all at once. What I ask is this; Is the uninsured ordnance change in 4.0 a bug? if so, this obviously becomes much less of an issue however, Are there any plans for something like ship shields, or engineering/armor to properly absorb ramming damage from ships with fore-exposed weapons?
