There's a rule for a trader/cargo hauler since the times of PU 1.0 - keep your ramp closed at all times. Minimize the time when it's open. Watch your surroundings. With 3.24 none of that is possible. You're vulnerable during the whole loading/unloading process. Especially so - inside armistice zones at outposts. It's relatively simple at DCs - you find someone to guard you. At outposts: you can't shoot a trespasser or drive them out. you can't prevent people from getting onboard. Maybe they're up to something. Maybe not. I've seen people just sitting for hours inside a loaded ship. For funzies. you can't prevent your mission cargo theft. The thief will get a crimestat eventually - but part of the mission cargo by that moment will be gone. you can't prevent stealing of your whole ship. With all the cargo. Unless you're occupying pilot's seat 100% of the time - that way you can't load anything. And so on and so forth. All you can do - hit a trespasser with a crate inside some ships. I'm sure someone have an idea how this can be countered. But I don't see it mentioned anywhere. Am I missing something terribly obvious? You sorta can direct your ship outside the armistice in decoupled and jump out of the pilot seat in attempt to fend of the intruder. Your crew member can take care of the guest. But that invulnerable trespasser counters one crew member anyway - they have to follow him, watch, take pilot's seat if necessary and so on. Meanwhile the pirate is protected by the game system, while you, your UEC, and your time are at a constant treat.
