Why is it that CIG seems incapable of making PVE content for its primarily PVE game? We can get Yogi to admit that SC is a primarily PVE game, but the people making the missions don't seem to understand that. We can't get a singular in game event without @EmaltbyCIG finding a way to shoe-horn in a PVP aspect where it is not needed nor wanted: I mean the mission team is nothing short of a living contradiction at this point: They are somehow on a repeated basis here showing themselves incapable of making PVE content for this primarily PVE game. They keep looking for ways to shoehorn in the "red team" side of things so that the "red team" can completely and utterly trash the experience that IS NOT BUILT to withstand their involvement. Was this mission team still around during the Xenothreat 0(PTU build) trials? Did they forget why the wreck sites needed comm arrays added to them by force? Do they not remember when they had to try and talk down AvengerOne from trashing Xenothreat by adding PVP to the mix? Do they not remember the serverwide mess that was the vanduul mask event? Do they not remember the absurdity of Siege of Orision where players camped the entrance doors? Are they even learning from any of their mistakes at this point? PVP and PVE do not seamlessly mix. There is a reason why PVP games have such cookie cutter uniform map designs that are atrocious for PVE gameplay experience. It is because without those bog-standard time-tested map designs, players will trash the experience without fail. You can make AI that won't abuse the META, but you can't make players that won't abuse the META, that is why PVE and PVP design are entirely different genres. And lets not feign the notion that "Well PvPvE design will work then" because PvPvE is just PVP with MOBA trash mobs haphazardly thrown in. PVP is far too demanding of a design to be readily blended with PVE, and the more you facilitate PVP design, the more it harms PVE design. So the question is, when is the mission team going to start acting like this is a primarily PVE game, rather than a PVP one? Are they really incapable of making primarily PVE content? It is too difficult for them to control player behavior like they are supposed to? Are they too afraid of PVP player backlash to make a functioning law system that actually keeps PVP behavior in check when needed?
