Railgun damage went from 6k/shot to 3k/shot for charged shots, additionally the ammo costs around 1k per shot. The railgun was the only viable tool to defend yourself vs ships when you weren't in one yourself, they are additionally very hard to use. Add in that ships generally have a bit over 50% physical (rg is physical) damage resist and a shield that adds 30% extra dmg resist gets the railgun to practically do about 1k damage a shot, this means you require about 10 shots on the weakest point of an F8 to kill/disable it. While the railgun gives you away with a bright blue tracer, needs to reload every 5 shots and has a charge-up. Shot placement is also tough on the still very manoeuvrable ships, and often ship velocity changes can duke Scourge shots as you cannot counter strafe (obviously) like ships can, at which point you're more likely to hit a non critical part or miss completely. It was already quite weak at 6k base damage a shot, this recent nerf was not publicized anywhere I saw, so I'm hoping it's a mistake. I did see explosion damage was slightly buffed but afaik this is not useful against ships (never had something on ships disabled from it) Can the recent railgun balancing be explained/reversed?
