As background, I'm a Prospector and Orion owner who is VERY concerned about the direction mining is going, especially as it scales up. In an ARGO Mole, I went to Cellin and mined Taranite for over one and half hours (travel to Cellin, mining, travel to refinery): Mined Taranite = 51.27 SCU I searched through the list of refineries for the best one for Taranite. ARC L4 Displayed Refinery "Bonus" Percentage = +5% I was really disappointed when I chose the most "inexpensive" method and found I wasn't gaining anything! Dinyx SCU render = 45.76 SCU (I'm losing 5.51 SCU with the BEST CASE OPTION!) That means that ARC L4 refinery percentage was a lie. The truth is... ARC L4 Actual Refinery PENALTY Percentage = -10.7% And that isn't the only discouraging experience... Length of Refinery Job = 77 hours 4 minutes (Greater than 3 ... actual ... days!!!) Given the cost of the refinery job, 19,498 aUEC (without counting overhead costs), the hourly earnings are only 4,581 aUEC per hour (worse than any box mission). But that's not fair, you say. It was only 1.5 hours to get 352 K aUEC. NOT TRUE... TOTAL TIME INVESTMENT - 2.5+ hours to mine, refine, retrieve, and sell. It's not much better if we count ONLY the invested actual time... Per Hour Actively Spent: 141 K aUEC So, to sum up... FALSE AND MISLEADING INFORMATION FOR THE REFINERY STATS EXCESSIVE REFINERY TIMES HIGH OVERHEAD COSTS (19.5K, Fuel, Repair, Gadgets) So, I ask the question again, why do the developers want to disincentivize mining so severely?
