The last update has left me baffled in the region of why remove the shield generator from the Dragonfly and Hoverquad. They have the same size power generator and cooler, so they should have about the same leftover power distribution. I'm trying to break it down for the sake of it making sense in a way that makes sense to justify this and I may be coming up short. The X1 has: 1xS0 PG 1xS0 Cooler 1xS0 SG 1Sx1 weapon x24thrusters Weight: 3,763 pounds when rounded down. Hoverquad has: 1xS0 PG 1xS0 Cooler No shield generator No weapon x23 thrusters Weight: 2,753 pounds when rounded up Dragonfly has: 1xS0 PG 1xS0 Cooler No Shield Generator 2xS1 Weapons Weight: 4,781 pounds when rounded up As it stands, the dragonfly has 27% increase, meaning the sheer weight alone could be considered enough for the generator to not be able to compensate, or maybe the combination of that AND the extra weapon could be what breaks it, but the hoverquad doesn't have the same penalties, so while there's no reason for it to HAVE a shield generator, there's also no reason for it to NOT have a shield generator, as it is lighter than the X1, and has less thrusters, and no weapons, and even if we account for a filled stowage, it still isn't close to breaking the maximum output of the S0 power generator. So, mathematically speaking, there is no sense in removing the S0 shield generator from the Dragonfly OR the Hoverquad. We can even scale it up and claim that the S0 can generate more power than is being given, seeing as a Nova tank is at least 33 times heavier than a dragonfly and only has 3xS0 power generators, that also power 3xS0 shield generators, 2xS0 coolers, 2xS2 turret (not counting the other two weapons). The Nova's weight is 161356 pounds rounded down. All of this coming to the point, why remove the shield generator, when there is no mathematical reason to do so, nor any logical reasoning behind it, since civilian shield generators are available for civilian vehicles, which the dragonfly, and hoverquad fall under? Edit: The more I think about it, the worse it gets, by changing the formula, you now have to change how power generators work across ALL ground vehicles to fit the immersion better. The Storm is also powered by the same S0 Power generator, and it can move surprisingly fast, and power a much bigger weapon, while STILL keeping its shield. Now it becomes increasingly harder to justify the DF and HQ NOT having shield generators unless you pull the good ole' "We can make any changes we want" which, alright, cool, but it doesn't change the fact that 1 power generator can't supply enough power to a hoverbike, while the same size generator can power a whole light tank, the math isn't mathing and you'll either have to review the Storm's, Cyclone's and Nova's design to immersively justify these changes, or just not make a lot of sense, which is one of the alluring aspect of this game. You have, effectively, created a lot more work for yourselves. This is looking more and more like you're actively sabotaging the project just so that people can keep their jobs, and I really want to be wrong on that aspect, but the more I think about it, the less it looks justified. Either that or you guys just did all this to make the X1 look better to try to boost sales.
