Lots of people have built flight simulator cockpits and with tools like Roccat grids & GameGlass we know Star Citizen will have good support for integrating them. If you're not familiar with those tools, @TheNOOBIFIER1337 has some great videos on them. If you haven't already seen it, what you're looking at below is a recent "shell" for a PC with a monitor and some lit buttons and knobs in front of it. It's fully integrated for the Starfield game and looks pretty cool. While you can buy ready-made panels for your simpit, most are A) expensive and B) tailored to today's realism rather than tomorrow's scifi. For example, this looks more like a modern aircraft: Why not 3D print panels for your custom design? Fun from both your hobbies! Small Touch screens are under $40, so they could be integrated with cheap toggle switches to build some amazing things. For example, below is backlit 3D printed panel for a Star Citizen simpit from @UndeadParrot on Thingiverse: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5748095 that is just amazing with a build video that gives tips like how to avoid light leaks: So ... does anyone know if anyone has already come up with any 3D models for something similar around Star Citizen? Please link any of your favorite threads to such projects or please share any ideas you might have around it. Hopefully, someone is (or multiple people are) already leading such a fan project. Thanks!
