To start off, I am looking to step up my desktop setup to a dual stick layout. I currently have an older T16000M on the right side for 3DOF control and keyboard for everything else. It is doable, but I often find myself sharing the same space between it and the mouse. I saw a video on a sliding rail kit for dual stick and that got the wheels churning in my head. So I am renovating my home office and will be integrating a fair bit of automation into it. Without getting too winded about all of the things I want to do with the rest of the room, I'll just get into what I want out of the desk, or rather, my sim components. I whipped together something in Blender (with some assets from sketchfab) to illustrate where I'm going with this. I don't have any actuators (linear or otherwise) shown in the image, but this is the motion I'm looking for to switch between configurations. I'm trying to see if there are any obvious pitfalls to this approach.
