Whats up guys! For a while now, i've wanted to have a control panel mounted to my Warthog throttle for immersive ship start up, landing gear, Self destruct and other mundane but necessary functions. The primary purpose is to goto the keyboard and mouse as little as possible during flight. So last week i decided now is the time to get started on the project. -See the very technical artist rendition below to see what I had in my minds eye- I ordered an assortment of toggles, buttons, wire, connectors and the like. The computer recognizes it as a game input device like a joystick or gamepad so it will allow me to use toggle switches, buttons and other clickety clack devices I want to make me feel like i'm flying my ship rather playing a video game. You can have a total of 12 button/toggle inputs as well as two 5v power leads to power LEDs and/or a volt gauge or any other 5v accessory. You will need to solder a socket onto the board for the 5v power, but the board has provisions for that, so easy peesy. Here is where you have to solder in the 2.56mm sockets if you want to have lights and doodads. Once the 3d printed NASA style toggle guards got three coats of paint, I started measuring and laying out the various toggles and buttons. This is the final layout, I took inspiration from the Starfarer and Freelancer and arranged them to be a clean functional layout.
