I'm working on a set of plans for the community to be able to easily build your own simpit. The goal is to have a platform that has ability to be functional, lightweight, durable, assembleable without any engineering skills, and look rad! Monitor stands, adjustable seat, mounts for speakers, keyboard tray, sliding side tables for easier access, rudder pedals tray... I am wondering if this is something people would want? Here is an early design of the project... EDIT: I'm estimating that the cost of building a simpit (without seat) can start at about $100 give or take. Add whatever seat you want and add whatever options on. I plan on making a handful of different pieces that will be modular - add it on, take it off, whatever you want. Here are some of the options I have so far: Basic frame for seat and pedals +pedal tray +arm frames +arm desktops +slides to slide desks back to make it easier to get in and out +frame for keyboard/desk +desktop +keyboard slideout tray +frame for center flightstick (between legs on floor) +frame for monitors +single/double/triple +side shell frame +rear shell frame +half canopy +full canopy +shell panels +rear woofer enclosure/shell
