Hi, I would like to make a simpit on a budget in the far future of SC beta (when I will buy my gaming PC). I would like to make a simple simpit where my main controls would be twin sticks and pedals*, and that utilises both a widescreen monitor (29") and a smaller monitor, both at 1080p. The idea is to have the world at the big monitor, and the controls/meters at the smaller one, like an aircraft. The chair would be my usual one, but a bit lower to have my eyes angled more to the center of the screen. When not flying, it would take a short standup and flick of the gas lever to adjust the height back, and sit straight at my desk again, feet in front of the pedals and hands at mkb. Is my idea pure folly, or is there some merit to it? *twin sticks is my current idea, it does depend on a few things: - if a 3d mouse is competetive, this would be a good motion control device for my right hand, with the left operating a key pad for the functions and maybe a head tracking like Track IR or Freetrack. - if joysticks are in no way viable, I would have to rethink the whole idea. ** pedals for throttle and an another analog in-game feature, like power to weapons/shields balance
