I bumped up from a circa 2012 Dell U3011 60Hz 2560x1600 (unsupported resolution--the days of 16:10 are long past and nobody wants to hear about it) 30" IPS panel to the new LG OLED 48CXPUB. This is gorgeous. The view at 39" is immersive without being overpowering, and if I want to dig in a bit I can bring it forward off the wall mount to 35" to feel more into the action. It is an OLED, so how much more black can the blacks be? None more black. It will be better served by a 3080 next year, but a 2080 will fill it reasonably right now. If you want, you can get away with under-rezzing it a bit and the set will compensate pretty nicely. I was trying it out at 1920x1080 and yes, it's a little blurry but the frame rate compensates--you can pick your poison. 2560x1440 is a great compromise and I saw performance jump from 64FPS to 75FPS while standing in the hab. Recommended if you are looking for a single flat panel solution. Additional notes: Borderless windowed 1920x1080 is 23" diagonal and 2560x1440 is 30" diagonal--it can be used as a single monitor multi monitor solution. EDIT: Four years on and it's still running strong. Using a 4090 to power it for 4K. No burn in or lost pixels.
