Hi Citizens! I've been a log-time flight simmer who followed the project since kickstarter and finally switched one year ago to SC. I upgraded my pc, purchased some equipment and added LED ambiet lights to my gaming room, but it never brought the right feeling. Having my Joysticks ontop of the uncomfortably high table, I decided, I needed something else. So during the long dark evenings in the winter lockdown I started setting up plans for my first ever SimPit. Our house had a very old, unused Bathroom in the basement which we never used so I teared this apart, and make room for my home office with a small dedicated SC corner. I looked into aluminium profiles and compared costs and after my Wife told me I'm crazy, I had to switch to wood for my project to cut costs. With this decided, I worked on a plan to create a SimPit which is compact, but still delivers everything I need. And beeing a flight simmer, I needed manual buttons! I purchased GameController circuit boards, buttons and switches, as well as a Cheap refurbished Car seat (with seat heating) and as soon as the lockdown was over I was one of the first to jump into the hardware store to collect the required wood, screws and other parts. My Daughet gave me a hand painting everything in a dull black and finally it was time to screw everything together. I pre-planned most of the parts on paper, but there were still many things that had to be decided "on the fly". I also had the chance to finally train my soldering skills. It took me about a month to get everything together and find the right software which allows me to program the buttons. Especially the ON-OFF flick switches were a hard task to solve. But eventually I got everything together and working. Needles to say, I have a blast! It is incredible and nearly impossible to describe how much all of this improves the imersion.
