Had a few goes at making a setip I liked, and this is the one I have settled on and am finding works best for me. The centre section uses a LeoBodnar 64 input card, with a smaller version in the right hand panel. My X52 HOTAS throttle on the left, with the stick central embedded into the centre console. It unplugs and slides out, as when I am playing non flight games, it can get in the way a bit. There are 16 toggle switches on the aluminium panel, 8 to a side in 4 high banks. 3D printed space shuttle style switch guardssit around them, with a little recess under each one where I can put a label sticker. As control formats are constantly changing as the game evolves...I want my panel to be able to do the same. In the centre are 3 push button switches. Currently these handle ESP, GSAFE and gimbal toggle. I have 8 push buttons to the left of hte stick, which currently handle targetting. In front of hte stick are 2 red covered toggle switches for eject and self destruct. All the push buttons switches sit in 3D printed racks to keep them aligned and evenly spaced. They also make hte panel look more interesting! The small panel to teh right of the stick is my shield controls and reset button. The centre block also acts as a monitor stand, as I wanted the monitor to sit on the upper layer, and blend in. It also hooks over the edge of the desk at the front. MAkes it nice and stable. The right hand box is a seperate entity, and handles the QT and speed controls and starmap, plus handy toggles for landing gear, lights and scanner settings. The 4 yellow buttons on top will be mining controls if I ever have a ship that can do that.... Again, I have not 'fixed' what the controls do, but am using temporary labels as controls evolve. Added to those, of course, I have all the buttons, sliders and toggles from the HOTAS. 59 control inputs plus the HOTAS seems to be enough for me....
