I'm working on this project and thought I may as well start a thread. I've had this Martin Baker Mk.7 "bucket" around for decades and figured I'd finally put it to use. I'm planning on a pretty simple setup, since I'm limited on space, so it'll just be a base to get the seat at a good height and "arms" to support a HOTAS. It'll be on casters so I can roll it up to my desk for use. So far I've cleaned it up, made a basic seat cushion (which involved building an MDF base to get it up high enough), and put on the first parts of the base frame. I'm carefully avoiding any permanent modifications or damage to the seat, both because it's a historical artifact and because I want to be able to use it for a more elaborate cockpit in the future. I'm headed out to the hardware store to pick up some remaining supplies this afternoon, so I'll probably have progress to show tonight.
