Hi guys, so I'm making plans and measurements, and then rinse and repeat over and over, to hopefully be able to start mounting a simpit with a custom piece of furniture. One of the things I need to think about is the monitor I should use, and therefore here I am asking for your opinions on what is best and why. I can't share any drawings yet, but suffice to say I will probably have the monitor about 120cm from where I'm sitting, so I will need something big enough to be able to read chat and ingame texts from that distance. With that in mind, my initial thoughts are these ones: Gigabyte AORUS FV43U 43" QLED UltraHD 4K 144Hz USB-C 43" 16:9 QLED VA monitor, 96.7cm wide and 58.6cm tall. Samsung LC49HG90DMRXEN 49" QLED Ultrawide FullHD 144Hz FreeSync 2 Curved 49" 32:9 QLED VA monitor, 120.3cm wide and 36,9cm tall. Both monitors have 144Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time. Personally I would prefer a IPS monitor but I don't find anything with those dimensions (ultrawide or not). Now I ask you, my fellow simpit lovers: Would a 16:9 be best? Or ultrawide is the way to go? I feel like the ultrawide monitor is not tall enough and being so far from it would make it difficult to read anything. Do you recommend any other monitor? Preferably around the 40"-49" range and not more expensive than 1000€. What's your preference? VA or IPS? And why? Thanks for your help!
