Let me start by saying, the only reason I am building a simpit is purely from the inspiration I've gained from viewing the many wonderful, varied and creative ideas and simpits from the SC community - well done to all :+1: Having never done anything like this before, I'm gonna give it a go and share my journey with you guys. This is a fairly daunting task, as I'm much more of a lurker on forums and rarely share any kind of experiences online. Hopefully, this might just give a nudge to someone else, and in the words of a famous sports wear company....... 'just do it' I have a picture in my head of what I want, but to be fair, the final product aint ever gonna be as good as that  I've picked up many tips so far, carried out a bit of research and pretty much have a clear way forward. Of course, with this said, things are always likely to change. My first challenge has been how to get whats in my head on to paper. With a few searches on the InterWebby, I downloaded some software called SketchUp. As a complete novice to this, it's taken me a little while to get the hang of it, but there is plenty of support (and ofc there's always YouTube). There are also some pre built components in the 3D Warehouse (like the keyboard below). I'm still in the early stages of design, and it takes me a while drawing it as I'm learning SketchUp as I go - plus nowadays I don't learn quite as quick as I used to! So, here is my first section: It's drawn to scale: these are my 3 ACER 24" monitors (which I drew myself) and my keyboard (which I downloaded and scaled). I'm still debating on the keyboard position and whether it will be movable / retractable etc. I'm sure this decision will become clear when I start adding my other components. Thinking it might get a bit hot under the canopy there, I've added a few fans to the rear. Although the monitors don't produce too much heat, I thought I would add the fans so I don't forget to check IRL. Well, that's the first part of my design. I will be adding to it this week, as there is still a long way to go for the final version. Thanks for looking.
