I also have to use my desk for work. I didn't buy my SC starter pack until Dec 2019 - though I avidly followed the game since the kickstarter. My setup has gone through many changes and during the lockdown over the past 15 months I was able to modify my setup and it continues to adapt. I won't show the PVC pipe set up I tried - it worked - but was kind of flimsy. Originally I used a couple of projector mounts and velcro to keep the Thrustmaster HotasX on the floor. I had ordered the MFG Crosswinds a week before the March lockdown hit us all last year and they arrived a week later so I wanted to mount them to a base as well. That was the first iteration using a local 80/20 supplier. Problem with the HotasX was the connecting cable was too short. So a later project (after warranty expired) was to take a couple of HDMI connector kits and cut the cable (went solderless connectors) I tested up to a 12' HDMI cable and it worked fine.In practice the 2m cable worked the best and stayed out of the way. Wasn't satisfied though. I kept going back to the drawing board and messing with the settings - the setup needed to be physically moved every time I needed my desk for work - so this got very frustrating. I looked at Monstertech and Foxx Mounts - importing Monstertech to Canada was far too expensive so they were ruled out. A few months ago my wife found a new Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS and got it for me for a birthday present. At that point I got the FoxxMount standard Throttle desk mount. I still needed to keep my keyboard tray accessible for work/other stuff but really didn't want to have to keep hauling the base unit out of the way every time I needed the keyboard. Using more 80/20 and some old RAM Mount parts I made an articulating center post for the Joystick. (I tried side mounting the stick but old habits really are hard to break). NOT showing my desk as it's a mess and I'm still waiting for the MFD mounts to arrive. So the Throttle and MFDs aren't shown. The back U shape on the base unit is to hold the front wheel of my chair. BTW these are MFG's new Combat pedals for "Heels on the floor" This is actually working pretty good so far (but have only had them a few days). I repurposed some of the original 8020 for the "floor" so my heels could slide on them. I may need to get a longer piece for the right side but for now/testing I'll see how it works as is. The heel doesn't slide right to the edge - I still have a couple of inches so this may be just fine. When I need to access the keyboard and fold the joystick out of the way I loosen the ram mount and the base brake and the unit folds back and forward - clearing the keyboard tray and resting under the desk. this shows the unit with the joystick folded forward - it fits under the desk/keyboard tray with plenty of clearance. I know this is going to mutate even more over time and I'm looking forward to the MFD mounts from FoxxMounts. Once I get my current work project out of the way, and the MFDs in place I will try to clear my desk and get a picture - I use a 34" MSI curved monitor that doesn't have VESA mounts so next major project is upgrade PC, try to find an RTX card that doesn't need both kidneys in trade and a VESA curved monitor. Honestly I think half the fun is building this stuff. And it's really enjoyable seeing how others are making their setups.
