See more 5007-5010 info below... o DISABLE SMART APP CONTROL. o Common user mistakes (EXPECTED install location: C:\Program Files\Roberts Space Industries\ OR: <DRIVE>\Roberts Space Industries\) in SETTINGS LIBRARY.) You CANNOT have two \starcitizen\ folders in the install folder path!!!! o RESETTING the LAUNCHER will default to C Program Files. Use SETTINGS GAMES to inspect location BEFORE and AFTER a reset. There are TWO paths in the 2.0 launcher: 1) Game Location which should show: <DRIVE>:\Roberts Space Industries\ 2) Game Location Complete Path which should be: <DRIVE>:\Roberts Space Industries\StarCitizen\LIVE PTU will be same but \PTU at the end. 3) 0xc000007b error (STATUS_INVALID_IMAGE_FORMAT) on Windows: DO NOT install to \Program Files (X86)\ SC is a 64 bit program. o Accessing and reporting installer log Launcher Offline: Many report only need to restart launcher. On Linux Log out of Launcher authenication and restart. Otherwise: When network changes or fault occurs (usually after electrical power failure) the Launcher uses old data which needs to be refreshed. CAREFULLY inspect the install location for the game in the launcher settings. Reset it SHIFT+CTRL+ALT+R. Inspect the install location again correcting if necessary then click VERIFY. WARNING: Reset may change the install to default location. PAGE TWO: - Moving the Installation - Win 11 sector diagnostics and fix (5007, 5010, 5021) - Download stalls (also Win 11 ^^) - Resetting the Launcher defaults - Out of Sysmem page file settings. Most Common Install problems (incl code 2000, 3000, 5007, 5018 and others): o 6000 error likely caused by compromised internet connection especially DSL and Wifi to provider which causes too much packet loss. o Launcher 2.0 BETA and "rc" have problems. Move installation and/or run the installer as Administrator and/or try TRIAL/Free VPN. o No spelling of "starcitizen" or "star citizen" in the SETTINGS Library folder text field. o Nested installation path. Can be only ONE folder name above the \starcitizen\ folder the installer auto creates. (except for C \Program Files\) USE \Program Files\ on C drive ONLY! Default install path in SETTINGS GAMES: C:\Program Files\Roberts Space Industries o Using the same Launcher you used for another installation in another location so the shortcut/icon points to the wrong location. o Make sure there is only one Launcher running in the Hidden Applications on task bar. In SETTINGS check the box: "Quit Launcher when Window is Closed" to prevent multiple launchers. o Windows not updated to latest (22h2). Force CHECK on Windows Update/Reboot. o Other programs, Antivirus, RAM faster than 3800/XMP and drivers can break installer. o Missing DLLs: System Libraries Required: C++ 2015-2022, .net 3.5, 4.5.2. VERSIONS "N/K/KN" of 10 or 11 AND INSIDER NOT SUPPORTED. o DirectX 12 required (BOTH OS and Gcard.) Run dxdiag application. o 5007, 8, 9, 5010 - Datapatcher - P4K Error Delete \Live\data.p4k file. In settings: Concurrent=5, Speed=Round down to the nearest whole kbps of your tested download bandwidth, multiply by 1000. Click VERIFY. o Citrix, malware such as wifi boosters and internet enhancers can stall internet connections to the servers and stutter the game and cause download corruption. o Refresh DNS and/or change to public DNS server. Base Game data.p4k file corruption: "base Game" is the Data.p4k file which can suffer from packet loss and corruption due to its size. Round Down download speed to a few Kbps below your tested speed and Concurrent to 5. Delete \Live\Data.p4k file and click SETTINGS Verify) data.p4k will be re-downloaded (appx 121+ GB in size.) 2G WIFI is unplayable in SC. 4G,6G and DSL cause packet loss and large file corruption. \PROGRAM FILES\ Permissions (EBUSY, json and other failures): \roberts space industries\ folder open properties (right click) and security tab it may show windows not giving full control. Allow full control. Otherwise move install OUT of \Program Files\ as instructed in page two. LAUNCHER/INSTALLER AppData Logs: Turn on "Hidden Items" and "File Name Extensions" in File Explorer VIEW menu. Launcher Crashes: log.log file located in Folder C:\users\<username>\appdata\Roaming\rsilauncher\logs\ Alternatively: Open CMD Command Prompt Window: OR windows key +r and paste: %appdata%/rsilauncher/logs/log.log Note: No space in the "rsilauncher" folder name. LAST/END/BOTTOM 20 LINES ONLY. SCROLL TO THE BOTTOM 20 LINES: o Example Crash Message: "event": "INSTALLER@INSTALL_FAILED", (or diff CAPS words separated by underlines) Experience has proven exactly 20 lines from the bottom of the file will fit in helpdesk.
