Hey citizens, recently I started playing on cloud gaming due to not having a gaming PC. I tried to play Star Citizen on Shadow PC but it's blocked because EAC detects the virtual machine and refuses to launch. I contacted Shadow support about it, they told me they've reached out to the EAC developers to find a solution, but it's been months and nothing has changed. The frustrating part is that this isn't an unsolvable problem. EAC has a configuration that lets developers choose whether to allow VMs or not. Some cloud gaming platforms like Boosteroid already run EAC-protected games like Warzone, GTA5 and Arc Raiders without any issues, meaning the tech works, it's just a matter of whitelisting. I contacted Boosteroid support to ask about adding Star Citizen, and here's what they said: "We collect inquiries from users in relation to any proposal they want us to consider. Therefore, in case this particular game would be broadly requested by a substantial number of users and there won't be any technical obstacles, we are going to add it in the nearest time." So the tech isn't the blocker, they just need enough demand. If you're a cloud gaming player stuck in the same situation, whether on Shadow, Boosteroid or anything else, consider sending them a request at support@boosteroid.com. The more people ask, the more likely it happens. New info dropped this weekend [14 March 2026]: EAC Compatibility: Boosteroid works closely with developers and anti-cheat providers to ensure a stable environment. While many EAC-protected games run perfectly on our service, each new integration requires individual testing to ensure our VM environment remains 'whitelisted' for that specific title. Technical Feasibility: Star Citizen is a massive and complex game. Supporting a custom launcher is possible, but our technical team needs to evaluate the performance and storage requirements specifically for the RSI ecosystem. Market Demand: Your research on the Shadow and AirGPU community migration is noted. We've forwarded your findings to our catalog management team for a detailed review. We appreciate your effort in 'building a case' for Star Citizen. While we don't have an immediate ETA, your feedback has been placed on the desk of the people who make these decisions. o7
