Last night I was effectively unable to play the game due to a band of self-righteous griefers and/or wanna-be pirates. It seemed to be a coordinated effort across the 'verse, on this server, from what I saw in chat; these folks were enforcing "No Fly Zones". Doesn't sound official, but what do I know. The inept A.I. "defense" system was completely unable to deal with the issue. Meaning the cretins continued flying by freshly spawned ships, that were on open pads, freely destroying them with no obvious repercussions. My experience: 1. Spawn ship (on a capitol city space station) 2. Enter Elevator 3. Select ship pad # 4. Exit Elevator at ship pad # 5. Watch my ship be destroyed as I exit the station onto the pad, "Pirate" Cutty narrowly skirts by with station A.I. "defense" shooting like Star Wars Stormtroopers... same level of accuracy 6. /Facepalm... /Sigh... 7. Return to spawn another ship (Wash, Rinse, Repeat X 3) 8. Obviously not able to play the game due to these Douche'Canoes. 9. Quit to desktop 10. Wonder why I continue to support the game. This is obviously NOT "Pirating". There was no other goal than to destroy the gaming experience for all players at these stations. This is a great combination of toxicity for any player to encounter. Much less new prospects/players checking out fleet week while first starting into and likely abruptly leaving forever. Great way to grow the game. I get it, there are folks that want to PvP and nothing else; I fully understand that. I understand the risk of playing in a PvP server and encountering PvP focused folks. Shxt happens, so to speak. That does not mean there isn't a line between playing a game with a PvP foundation or principle and griefing players over and over and over to get whatever fix it is these individuals, who honestly believe they are playing within the games intent and "pirating", need. When I can't even play the game because someone is destroying my ship(s) before I can even get to it, much less power it up and fly, crosses a line. This needs to be dealt with.
