Hey everyone. I compared the performance of manually OCed and tuned DDR4 vs normal plug and play settings most people use to run Star Citizen to see how it affects the games performance. First and foremost this comparison is for my personal use case to evaluate if going with 3600Mhz+ is worth it and I like to test everything. I used CapFrameX to capture the data ingame and compare results, also note the results are for 1080p Max setting. To start here are the system specs; General Specs CPU: 13900K - Manually set to 5.8Ghz all cores, e-cores off, Hyperthreading off GPU: RTX 4090 FE - OC NVME Drive: WD sn850 2TB PSU: BeQuiet 1200W OS M.2 NVMe: Crucial P2 1TB M.2 Game M.2 NVMe: WD_BLACK SN770 2TB GPU Driver: Nvidia driver 527.56 Note that I tested with Hyperthreading off because that was the recommendation I saw online, however I also included with Hyperthreading on which gave a boost, indicating that the old recommendations are based on a pre 3.17.4 patch. DDR4 Components Motherboard: MSI z690 Tomahawk Wifi DDR4 RAM: 2x Patriot Viper Steel DDR4 16GB (2 x 8GB) 4000MHz CL 16-16-16-36. 32GB total Here are the results. The results are based on the average of 3 runs, running from Lorville hab elevator all the way to the terminal: For those who like video format you can check the full analysis bellow and as a general question to those who complain about performance, do you tune your ram?
