Hey guys could realy use some help here. Im thinking of buying a new laptop in a few days. But im conflicted about a few things. My previous laptop: Lenovo Ideapad y500 Core i7 3630QM not overclocked GT650M SLI with 2 gigs of vram 8GB 1600MHZ ram DDR3 1TB HDD 5400RPM. 720P screen Panel res. The laptop i am interested in: Acer Predator 17 G9-793 Core i7 6700HQ GTX1070 (Laptop version ofcourse) 32GB 2133MHZ ram DDR4 2TB HDD 5400RPM + 512GB SSD. UHD Screen Panel. Now i would like to know if u guys think its a good upgrade? My lenovo barely ran Star Citizen, at about 10-15 fps. Will the Acer play it smoothly? And not just now, in the future when the game gets launched aswell? Also What is the limiting factor in my current laptop? GPU or CPU? Because if its GPU then i think the upgrade will be well worthit, But if its the cpu there is only about 10% performance increase from the 3630QM to 6700HQ and 10% more from 6700HQ to 7700HQ, which in my opinion makes these new laptops not worthit. Also does anyone know of a good app to check whats limiting my INGAME FPS? Looking forwards to ur replies.
