I'm writing this down so maybe i can help someone stuck on my same situation. I use, like most other players, the same SC folder to play both PTU and Live, changing its name every time i want to switch. Today while downloading the new PTU version, the launcher decided to update during the process, stopping it. The result was, once the new launcher was operational, i couldn't update/install the PTU. I had the "Install" button which led to successfully download the manifest, but when the game files update got started the process stopped and went back to the Install button endlessly. Was clear some file was corrupted, but couldn't find which one unless i reinstalled the whole folder. I found however this fix: I renamed the folder "StarCitizenPTU" back to "StarCitizen" and started the LIVE Launcher. I then verified the files, the launcher in this case detected a discrepancy somewhere in the folder and fixed it. Renamed back the folder to "StarCitizenPTU" and started again the PTU Launcher. This time the update completed successfully. Maybe this little workaround could also work in the opposite side, when you have issues with the LIVE release coming back from PTU. Hope this thread will be helpful to someone.
