Hi, About a week ago i have started to have a very distracting issue with my SC, and have been trying for days to solve it with no joy. Its hard to convey how disruptive it is but it makes fps a nightmare and i can only do ship stuff because i have joysticks! If ANYONE has any idea what this may be, or what i should try next PLEASE help! Thanks!! sorry....its long! Symptoms: Short video showing it, you cant see it all that well in this demo but can make a better one tonight: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nnyO1T1kfPQ After clicking launch i see the EAC window, this is where the issue starts, even the splash screen flickers, then when the game loads it "flickers" for a few frames a second and i can see the desktop/whatever was on the main screen when I launched the game. when the flickering is happening the SC icon on the toolbar rapidly disappears and reappears. (best visible on 2nd monitor) whilst this happens on its own, the issue is compounded by left mouse clicks, and only left clicks, right clicks, keyboard or joystick inputs dont make it worse. Clicking the mouse that the wrong time during a flicker will cause the game window to instantly close and not reopen (with no error message until the launcher error check. it only does this in SC, i have tested many other games and none do the same thing Suspicions of the cause!: disk usage / asset loading (Star Citizen bug) this is my current prime suspect, (see testing below) something in 4.8 borked it, but I have a feeling i had the issue in 4.7 too, i dont remember the first time i saw it! Gsync/Vsync issue, but I do not think its this something else i cant think of! things i tested: Using resource monitor i can see in the disk usage spike a bit when i left click in SC, and then i see the resource mon icon close and open just like the SC one - this is my number 1 suspect but i have no idea how to FIX it! GPU Driver issue (I have tried 4 different drivers with clean installs using DDU, including ones that i used on the same system before the issue started) issue with the Drive hardware: I have tested the Drive, and installed SC on other drives too Windows issue, I have reset windows through recovery, - i will install a fresh version on a different drive with nothing but SC if i have to, just to test, but would rather not! something with Processor lasso - reset to defaults and uninstalled EAC, reinstalled and reset lose cables, power issue, everything is stable memory issue - tried different ram sticks CPU - reset everything to defaults bios - updated bios mouse polling rate / mouse driver - tried different mouse, removed old drivers an overlay conflict of some sort, (happens with 0 overlays active or running, i even uninstalled nvidia app overlay during testing MPO, disabled in reg and still issue DWM - same Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling - same resolution issue, happens in all resolution settings many other things that i have probably forgotten other observations: issue persists on fullscreen, windowed and borderless issue persists on Vulkan and DX11 issue persists on different monitor and frame-rate caps my hardware: AMD Ryzen 9 9850X3D RTX 4090 96gb DDR5 6000 cl28 1tb Samsung 9100 pro - 4tb Samsung 990 pro if you read all that thanks!!!
