Greetings Fellow Citizens! So, I have this issue and I have some ideas what it might be, but I'm looking for some good insights as to how to fix the issue. Problem: My PC locks up once per Star Citizen session, usually in Arena Commander (Pirate Swarm) or the PU. It could be anywhere. Basically everything will freeze and my PC will require a hard reboot to get going again. It usually doesn't hard lock again after this (for that session). PC Specs: Dual Xeon hexacore CPU, 2.4 GhZ E5645 GPU: NVIDIA GTX 780 Ti with driver 384.76. No overclocking. Average about 9-10 FPS in the Verse, 20-25 FPS in AC. 48 GB Ram OS: Windows 7 Ultimate running in high-performance mode. CPU parking utility employed, CPU at 100% max. Plenty of hard drive space, but SC is installed on the SSD (C:). No anti-virus or anything unnecessary running in the background. PC inside is dust-free (I just cleaned it and all fans are running). Few thoughts here; 1. My PC in the resource monitor shows gobs of processor activity. Overheating seems to be an obvious consideration. Regular fan cooling in an ATX-style case. 2. New Mobo and CPU may be in order. I'm a 3D artist and game-dev, so CUDA cores are important to me, but so is CPU-rendering (more cores is better). Please suggest your favorite and best bang-for-the-buck solutions here, both Intel and AMD okay (though I prefer Intel). 3. A video card upgrade will help my FPS (even with netcode improvements), but I suspect the hard lock issue won't go away. Although, it might be handy to try a different video card in my system just to see if it fixes anything. I'm looking at the GTX 1070 (AMD is out of the question) but I think a CPU upgrade should be first. Thoughts and recommendations welcome! Thanks, Spacep0d
