SC is currently limited by your RAM bandwidth. RAM bandwidth is a function of the type of memory, the speed, the interface type, and probably a lot of different things. Having 16GB of RAM is not the total solution to better FPS in SC 3.0. You need to have 16GB of RAM with a wide bandwidth. Testing: I have 16GB of dual channel (more bandwidth than single channel and not as good as triple or quad) of DDR4 (more bandwidth than DDR3, DDR2, etc.) usually running at 2937. This gives me ~30 FPS on average in SC 3.0. This is my "control" for the test. I then tested by setting my RAM speed to 1096 in BIOS. The result was ~11 FPS on average in SC 3.0. If anyone else who is computer savvy and has decent FPS can test this we can hopefully figure out if my conclusions are correct for computers in general and not just specific to mine. And if we do, we may be able to eliminate the frustration of some with low FPS. Please add test results to this thread, including ones that don't agree with my test results! Cheers, M.
