I recently installed Star Citizen and it has never run without a bad stutter. I have been working on this problem for about a week without any improvement. After changing every recommended setting from many sources (including reducing the graphic to their lowest setting with no improvement), I am starting to become concerned there may be some incompatibility with my OS, hardware, and Star Citizen. So, I will start with my hardware. CPU: Intel I9-12900K GPU: EVGA GeForce RTX 3090 Ti FTW3 RAM: 32 GB Corsair Vengeance DDR5-5600 Motherboard: MSI MEG ACE DDR5 I am running Windows 11 Pro with the latest drivers. I do not see the stuttering problem on other graphically intense games such as Red Dead Redemption 2, PUBG, The Huter: Call of the Wild, and MS Flight Sim. I can easily run their highest settings and still usually achieve over 120 FPS. The average performance I see with these games are pretty consistent. CPU Utilization: 40-60% GPU Utilization: 95-96% Temperature on CPU and GPU never exceed 68 degrees C Frame rate: 120+ (some over 200) Frame time: < 8ms On Star Citizen my performance runs: CPU Utilization: 30% GPU Utilization: 34% Temperature on CPU never exceeds 40 degrees C Temperature on GPU never exceeds 55 degrees C Frame rate average 44FPS (I have limited it to 45 FPS in my NVidia settings) Frame time average 29ms but is very sporadic and I have seen spikes in the 200ms range I have two sons that have beginner gaming machines with decent hardware (AMD Ryzen 7-3700X with AMD RX 5600 XT and Win 10) and (Intel I5-12900K with AMD RX 6650 XT and Win 11) that run Star Citizen far-far better than mine. My first impression is that my GPU is not being fully utilized, but I cannot find a way to get Star Citizen to utilize it more and maybe stabilize. In the screen shot, the dip in the graphs comes from minimizing the screen for a short time. I hope someone has seen this and has any ideas. I have a ticket with RSI.
