Hello everyone, In my time helping people in helpdesk-volunteers, I've noticed that while many questions are straightforward or can be directed to official support channels, some require more in-depth investigation. This often leads to inviting individuals to a personal Discord for a voice discussion, making it easier to share logs, screenshots, and other relevant information. With this in mind, I’m extending an invitation to join an initiative designed to enhance support within our Star Citizen community. We're establishing a Discord server to complement the Spectrum forums. Our primary aim is to provide our existing volunteers with advanced tools to better assist and support those in need. This Discord isn't a replacement for the Spectrum but an additional, supportive resource. It will feature functionalities like voice chat and easier sharing of logs and screenshots, all geared towards enhancing the effectiveness of our support. Needless to say, this also places support in the hands of mobile devices, where the Spectrum itself can be rather clunky in that respect. I understand there might be scepticism regarding new platforms. Rest assured, this project is about building upon what we have, not diminishing it. To further support this, I've purchased a lifetime subscription to MEE6 for the server, offering advanced moderation tools and added benefits for a streamlined experience. Currently, we’re seeking volunteers for roles as helpdesk operatives, moderators, and admins. CIG staff interested in monitoring, participating, or contributing to this initiative are also more than welcome in any capacity they desire. Our objective is to create a more comprehensive and supportive environment for our community. Whether you can spare a lot of time or just a little, your involvement as a volunteer will be a crucial part of enhancing the support we provide.
