Subjectively speaking BLT's are better than glazed-ham sandwiches, objectively speaking both are bread with pork. Burger King sells cheeseburgers, so does McD's, you probably prefer one over the other, both are trash bread with crap meat between the buns. While I'm sure there are stable individuals here who can find interest in both Starfield and Star Citizen, hell, I'm sure there's even someone here taking Star Atlas seriously, there hardly is a comparison. I've played some Bethesda games before, including Fallout 76, I'm not too sure the hype here is warranted, and I especially don't think there's a comparison to be made, besides "space game". I'm sure Starfield will be a very neat adventure to those who it caters to, especially when the Bethesda backbone of the modding community taking over the project after release and making it in to something worth actually getting invested in is a thing, not to mention them fixing it, making it look better, run better, sound better, play better and the list really just goes on like that (boobies). If I can buy Starfield on sale and the mod community has implemented all the features I come to Star Citizen for are in the game- that is the flight and physics, multiplayer, survival elements, no artificial leveling of the character and enemies, stuff like hopping out of my ship in low orbit in a vehicle or without and watch it all burn up in atmos while my buddy laughs as they splat me on their windshield in an attempt to scoop me up and whatnot, we can compare, that will never happen though. Even Squadron 42 is not aiming for any of the things that Skyrim in Space is going for. If this conversation is about delivering "the space game" so far I only see "a space game". Yes, both games have spaceships, guns, planet tech, that's pretty much where the paths diverge and they head in almost opposite directions. Subjective opinion is just that, subjective. Objectively speaking Todd Howard does not have a great tack record in creating interesting and compelling multiplayer or singleplayer games set in space, or working games for that matter, or well written games, for that matter. In fact the more I think about this the more it starts to feel like I'm too old to involve myself in hype over any game, including Star Citizen. So, not advocating for either, because they're both essentially bread with pork, if you will. Some folk prefer mustard over mayo with their dead pig. Dead pig with bread regardless. One does not compare to the other beyond that. What kind of competition is this? The cyclist versus trial biker, both on their own track doing incomparable things and we have to judge who did the thing the other didn't better because bicycle? What are you people on about? Is this about speed? Because Bethesda didn't start from scratch and Starfield was in development for 7 years, and it's going to take another 7 for it to be any good, and that will be because of the community modding it. Maybe to have 100 person multiplayer, in which case- see you there.
