For a while I've been seeing videos for a couple of games (most recently Bodycam) that are establishing new standards for how character movement, camera movement, sounds, weapons, ragdolls, etc work. I've always had this concern that when you have a game in development for over a decade, eventually it starts falling behind newer projects in things it can accomplish, and I've been thinking a lot about the FPS side of SC given these videos (there's also the separate topic of decisions by some CIG devs over the past few years that have taken the FPS direction in the arcade direction, but that's another issue). Bodycam is Unreal Engine 5. Does anyone know if these things can be incorporated in the SC engine as well? Or will we be stuck with a second-rate FPS experience in 1.0 and beyond?
