Title somewhat click-bait So those who play Gaijin's War Thunder are aware of the big story swirling around surrounding the game. Long story short a Chinese player got into various groups that make cheats for the game. Allegedly this player then provided Gaijin with 20 different source codes which led to the banning of over 40,000 accounts. This is not confirmed but the forums are full of I have been playing for many years and spent hundreds of dollars, why have I been banned? (Many of these players have suspiciously good play statistics). Today Gaijin confirmed almost 7,000 accounts banned (not sure if this was in addition to or what the actual number was in the incident swirling around earlier in the week). If this story is true, the saddest part of it all is a player had to use his own time to do this instead of the company. I know we will never all agree on the definition of what griefing is when it comes to hostile activities in the game. But I think we can all agree that cheating is scummy, and in my book, it does constitute a form of griefing. I don't know if there is much cheating going on now in SC, but no doubt it will be happening in the future when there are things to be lost/gained. I hope CIG does spend a good amount of time and resources combating these things, and finding creative ways to sniff out as much of it as possible. Please don't just depend on the playerbase. Anyways if you made it this far, sorry for using Gaijin and CIG in the same sentence.
