Hey guys, I am not really a server / network engineer, but only just doing some game-programming with Unreal. I do intend to port my project to Lumberyard. Now what do I want to do? I am doing a small game-demo for an RPG, though the game is aimed at being an MMO with RTS features. I won't tell you what I intend to do, but just in-case you are wondering, in IS ambitious! So if you've played a Total War game, or any top-down RTS game that you have to control AI soldiers, imagine that all those soldiers are in fact PLAYERS in an MMO. In some of the battles in Total War, the amount of AI soldier count can reach past 20 000 units on one battlefield. So my question is: CAN WE DO THAT WITH AN MMO game? Does CIG have the technology to put 20 000 players on one single battlefield (very close together like you've seen in the roman army and other historical battles) and make them fight like in a massive battle-royale game (like 5 armies going at each other), if they was to use every single datacenter available in the world now?
