As the title says, I am curious if the second Battlefront 2 from EA is worth the investment. I saw a lot of videos for the multiplayer and watched the beginning of the campaign since people are already posting entire walkthroughs, and so far, I have mixed feelings about the game. The multiplayer just looks empty and not epic and the singleplayer campaign feels like it was made just to simply make people be happy about there being a campaign. The story does not look convincing or immersive, and frankly speaking, I find that the way Disney and EA have been handling the Star Wars franchise to be really poor. EA and DICE have stated that the game will be receiving updates and DLCs for free but there will be loot crates that have received a lot of heavy criticism. In this day and age, micro-transactions and other methods to milk a game have become very common in the video game industry, so it is not surprising. It has been around for a while now so take that into consideration. Has anyone here played the game's Alpha and Beta and know if the game will be worth it or not? It has been far too long since I have played a Star Wars game, and I played so many of them so many times to the point that the discs stopped working. A few other things I should ask is, is the community friendly and good or is it starting to show signs of toxicity? Has EA considered the possibility to allow people to create mods for the game like in the original games or is that just not going to happen which I think will likely be the case? Seeing as how EA and DICE are focusing all of their attention towards the new era that Disney is making, which I find does not flow well with the original trilogy (I mean come on...a massive version of the Death Star within 30 years?), I just don't really know what to expect. I am willing to get the game only if, and that is a big if, EA can prove to me that they will take the various requests made by the community into consideration to create a big community that will support the game for many years, just like the case with the original games.
