Got this game today (download), and its the only reason we picked up a PS4. It is true to the original and very immersive. Of course the current game covers only the gameplay in Midgar. The battle system is a hybrid of newer FF games, and offers three choices. I'll try out the traditional myself, once my wife plays through. Added a lot more than was in the original, as far as what goes on in Midgar. Also really like how the characters stayed true to their 1997 versions. Still playing early in the game. One gripe: I don't mind profanity in games so much, but this one certainly profanes God a lot - for a universe that doesn't acknowledge his existence in any other way, other than an abandoned building that looks somewhat like a church. Perhaps they should have stuck with "Mako-Damned" … or something that would have made sense in the game's setting. You can interact with the NPCs, who react to your presence. Overall, look forward to playing this completely through.
