I only ask this, because that game, way in the beginning of it's run, had deep systems in place that brought characters together in fun and safe, non-combat scenarios. The Cantinas in the major cities, plus player city cantinas were filled with players who went there for breaks from the action, to meet new people, watch characters dance, listen to others play music, pick up beverages and food produced by other players, sometimes right on the spot. ALL to obtain often tiny, sometimes barely perceptible buffs. To obtain these buffs, it could take 5, 10, 15 minutes of hanging out in the social zones and this gave reason for players to socialize, come together and build relationships that pulled them deeper into the game, built communities and that drove player retentions. There were players who only logged in, just to hang out, using the cantinas as a chatroom, spending time making friends and giving people buffs. It built community in a way that was cooperative, social and built relationships. Contrast that with what were seeing and being told is the only way that is being considered for building this game, well... It's basically training players to always expect danger and trouble, as well as to immediately, forcefully and quickly eliminate any player who happens to come into view. Has anyone played full PvP MMOs like the Day One release of Conan and others? What about reading what almost happened to those projects when it became clear that only those who had all of the time to play, which is always going to be a VERY small number and utterly unprofitable to the ongoing business concern of running an MMO, group of players, who enjoyed the constant struggle, in an MMO setting? As has happened time and time again, there's these great ideas to create all of this constant PvP violence as the "key" to creating player interactions... well, it has yet to ever really work out in an MMO setting. Those games try it out, quickly find out that they are bleeding subscribers and... pull everything back, rework some things, relaunch and... they tend to stay in operation, but they don't live up to the promise, because perennially online PvP focused players get bored and leave, when the PvE focused players get fed up and walk away. Right now, there's no reputation system, nothing holding in check just blatantly attacking anyone and everyone you see and... there's no real reason or places to go "hang out". I didn't sign up for an MMO that is purely focused on endlessly stacking bodies. If I want that? There's Destiny 2, or Arma or Overwatch or any number of other quick in, quick out FPS twitchy games.
