No Man's Sky has made salvage what we've been waiting for in Star Citizen for 13 years. They've done it in secret, without anyone expecting it, without anyone testing it, and it's great! A new system of various grounds vehicles like CSV-SM with physical objects, with cargo boxes/trays in the vehicles, where you can put scrap, wheels, components, and trash with a great gravity tool. With machinery at your outposts where you can PHYSICALLY throw objects to be refined without needing to use a freight elevator system. A great planetary scrap search and refinement mechanic. I'm not saying it's perfect, but it's fun. It's much better and more entertaining than what we have now, offering plenty of gameplay loop to keep you entertained for hours doing something you enjoy. In Star Citizen, we have a magic beam that disintegrates the ship's hull, a magic beam that breaks the ship, and a magic beam that “shreds” the ship. Nothing physical to interact with other than a magic beam. Fun, right? I just ask that some DEV try this NMS mechanic so we can have something at least as playable and fun as theirs. If it works, copy it and improve it.
