So last night i was give a taste of what Multi crew could be in SC, i was flying my F-14B Tomcat when a random ask to join my RIO (radar operator), i hesitated but then just allowed it, and man, im glad i did it, having a Human in the rear, not an AI, just unlocked the potential of the F14 and show me how cool SC MC could be if they did it properly with everyone having their functions and proper roles i basically fly, dictate the geometry of the fight, ask for flare/chaff, etc and he manages the radar to find targets, ask me for proper vectors, keeps an eye on speed and fuel, does electronic warfare, etc man it was the most fun intense MP experience i had since DDCS server went down, we dominated, 5-1 first campaign and 8-2 (8-1 if you count that we just kamikaze on the last sortie) in inferiority of numbers it show me what SC should do, and could be, giving each position its OWN TRUE role and not a FORCED one, and make that role MEANINGFUL, it could turn SC MC experience into an epic collection of memories unrivaled by anything in the industry. you could argue that being the pilot is the "fun" role, but man, he was having a blast back there, because he felt the weight and importance of his job, and once we synchronized our workloads, we become an oiled machine , one complimenting the other, he wasnt just a passenger, or a monke press 1 key, he was a vital member of the crew, he would increase my SA by an order of magnitudes, our survivability immensely, and we complimented each other EXAMPLES at one time we where trying to IFF a buggy that keep returning "uknown" answer, so i just pitch down hard and checked with the VID, confirmed positive bandit, in other occasion 2 friendlies merge with 1 bandit i lost track of the bandit and he immediately call " tally 3 o'clock low tracking west climbing" so i immediately reversed, hit vertical scan and got a fox 2 on the guy, i would have died if i was alone in that scenario, but MC just increased OUR efficiency in another occasion we got ambush by a flanker but he screamed "my radar my radar", he knew he had a way better chance and a faster chance to lock him than me on PAL, so i exit PAL and bro, he locked that guy in a seconds while i was still maneuvering, STT fox1, defensive, he recommits again, fox 2, VID shows 2 ETs fired so "i scream flare flare flare", and bam, another kill, then he says "got a radar glimpse on a possible guerilla group north within 10, lets RTB, go heading 190 for 20", a so i hit the burner and RTB, no ambushes for you today guys in another instance we got ambushed by a sneaky TOR, out of nowhere the RWR started screaming at us, "TOR 12 oclock!" i started defending and he got into the electronic warfare, jamming and chaffing in a know Tomcat tactic, being experience i knew we probably where ded, guess what, he manage to break the lock just in time, giving me 2 or 3 extra seconds, missiles defeated! and he immediately marked it in our TID so we knew to keep our distance, another case of 80% ded chance while being solo but surviving tnx to MC, MC MADE THE DIFFERENCE i could go on, it was a 5h session, but the idea is there, constant communication, the back and forth, the delegation and reclamation of responsibilities, the management of our own systems, both of complimenting each other, nothing was forced, everything had a reason to exist, that created an atmosphere of cooperation and pure enjoyment, from the "100 knots" or "flaps up" to the "smoke in the air 6 o'clock" or "keep coming right 30 degrees", everything had a reason to be and multiplied the experience and the EFFICIENCY of the plane, but thats lacking in SC in SC you really feel like it is either useless to have a crew (turrets), it is forced/pointless (corsair first nerf/antares), or it is there just for aesthetics (co pilot/captains chair/medical room), imagine how badass SC ships could be if MC was meaningful, to feel like your role actually does somenthing and you are needed beyond "its forced" imagine if the co pilot could for example IFF targets, assign target numbers, telling PDCs what to attack, doing EW, while the pilot maneuvers, uses missiles, counter measures, and the captain has this global view of everything his sensors are giving him, everything his crew is doing, pinpointing priority targets for X turrets, asking for missile types, commanding the next moves, adapting tactics, imagine how would it feel if being in a turret felt like you are a force multiplier, like tnx to you now the ship is a hard cookie to eat, instead of just, well get into the turret i guess SC could be that DCS experience i had, multiplied by 100x, since SC is more modern and has so many unique features on a larger scale, you could really fell like you are in command/or part of a well oiled crew of a star ship battling for your life, or an excellent 2 men fighter, so dont force MC into people cuz nerfing or X, make it enjoyable and a force multiplier, make it meaningful
