This is a demo you can play right now "Starship Simulator" https://store.steampowered.com/app/1332100/Starship_Simulator/ I've just done the tutorials and there's so much good stuff happening in this design Just the simple idea that the astrometrics station scans identifies stellar phenomena, and then at the press of a button can send that target to the helm, who then can act on that information when needed The reactor start up and electrical management tutorial is very interesting, I assume SC will not require this kind of manual pressing of buttons to just turn on a ship for example and will focus on management of those electrical grids instead of the 'star trek' way where you'd pretty much flip switches on the component itself in a symphony with other crewmen setting things up in the correct sequence. But the tutorial essentially has you prime the reactor with coolant and fuel, power up it's startup power system, then transfer that into a full ship supply, then attach that supply to the various capacitors, aggregators etc on each deck, its really interesting. I can't wait to see how the game handles damage control. But it's certainly a game that SC should be watching, because it managed to explain to a layman like myself how it's all set up very easily. It's also an exceptionally well set up tutorial for such a early stage of a game. I'm definitely gonna keep watching this game, and I would hope that SC might look at it for inspiration at times Definitely something to watch, as I suspect this game will also do 'multicrew' really well Also shows a really nice door control mechanic, where it's easy to establish a code on teh door to lock and unlock Also extremely controllable lighting controls in some rooms AND you can Polarise the windows when it's bright outside, with a % strength control! AND the obviously required Green, Yellow, Red, Emergency and Disco Lighting... AND! in the captain's office, u can enjoy the star view OR a projection of a scene! AND! fantastic maps around the ship
