I realize that this being 'other games' means that it's just talking into the wind, but I wanted to mention this, and this was as good a place as any. -------------- If you don't know it already, check this out: https://verseproject.online/ It's an SC clone. ( The good kind) that's early in development. Very small still. -------------- One awesome choice they made was using 'spin' gravity for the station. It's mostly a lore thing, but it results in two important things: 1. The station spins. Once you get 4950m away, you'll cross the zone transition and you'll see that the station is spinning. (They do the same as SC when you're inside the same container, and you move with everything else...for simplicity.) 2. The other thing is that gravity it "OUT" from the center of the station. So if you want to walk out of your ship into the station, the 'ceiling' of your ship is towards the center. (This all makes perfect sense when you try it, and it's brilliant.) They sorta built the ships 'Expanse' style, where the 'nose' of the ship is also the 'top' of the ship. Your seat rotates when you sit down, and now you're facing forward. So, when you land, you flight straight into the station, and the docking clamps grab you. I promise it's a really cool feature. :slightly_smiling_face:) ----- It's not implemented yet, but ships have a 'docking port' as well. Because of this 'nose first' station docking system, the ship-to-ship docking can actually use the exact same landing UI. So you'd connect 'nose-to-nose' with another ship and then open your docking port. ----- Right now Verse Project is about at the level of the "Hangar Module" and Arena Commander Free-flight from 6 years ago. (At least, that's what you can do in the demo.) But this landing mechanism is pretty cool, and it's been fun to play with.
