Elite Dangerous is making themselves more a competitor to SQ42/Star Citizen with the drop of their new expansion of foot and ground vehicle content and I could not be more excited about this. Having worked as a dev in a game house, competition can relight the fire of urgency some can lose when they become complacent being the only one in a given space or type of game. I am hopeful this new competitor will not only remind Chris and CIG that they do not have forever to launch their mythical unicorn perfect launch, but that a marked improvement and uptick in the speed of their development will help close the gap from Elite Dangerous's drop and Squadron 42 or Star Citizen's launch. Competition generally helps the public or player base with a developer who wants to take to long to make a game and I hope the same will be true with Chris Roberts, CIG, and SQ42/Star Citizen. BTW before haters, trolls, or whatever you wanna be... I am a longtime supporter of SQ42, and SC. I am just tired of Chris's BS of its done when done and I don't even have to give you an idea of when it may be. Sadly he has become to accustomed to being the king of the new space genre game and as such feels he can without recourse do as he wants. I now others are too, it is nothing new to see long time supporters like me wondering if another DECADE will pass before anything looks close to launch. Hopefully things will change especially once Elite's expansion drops.
