During the slog that was 4.0 and it's subsequent patches, I found myself wondering wtf I was doing with my (spare) life. Waiting and waiting and waiting. Work around after work around etc. I decided I'd dig the old VR out and jump on Elite for a bit. Stuff Worked!! Ha!! I spawned in my ship (still playing Horizons, cos Oddessy), missions complete, ED Copilot is a hoot, HOSAS UI control is superb, nav works, space is black, refueling in a click, and, well VR. The first few hours we're spent marvelling (and literally laughing out loud) at how smooth and consistent everything was. Even though it's been neglected, Elite in VR is just amazing. I have Tobii and it works well in SC, but the scale is what makes VR so awe inspiring. Hosas, VR, stuff working = Fun. Im having fun!! ... albeit with 10 year old graphics, and fugly ships. SC in native VR would be spellbinding, though such a pipe dream. Stuff needs to work first perhaps. Anyhoo, Instead of buying a new SC ship, I bought a new VR headset. CGI, you've lost me (and my wallet) for a little while. Godspeed with those elevators, missions, flight models, skyboxes, item recoveries and ship sales. I'll still be skulking in the shadows ... and watching Voidy on the telly. o7 Comman .... er Citizens!
