Credit given where Credit due. NEXT is a prime example of what it looks like when a Studio redeems itself in full, and more. No Man's sky originally launched with grand expectations based on over hyped rumors. But the recent revelations have proven that a Dev Studio after some years of a botched launch and total communication silence, can make a dramatic comeback. Initial Launch The initial launch of no man's sky was rough. The Gameplay, simple and addicting, but once all is said and done, it was quite limited in scope and features. Crafting when finished allowed interesting methods of making lots of units, but aside from that End Game meant just finding the ship, Multi-Tool, and Storage with the most space and slots for upgrades. First Updates After the initial launch came the Atlas Rises update, which added in some more in-depth things such as Base building, and snub/rover class vehicles used to traverse planets quicker. It was a welcomed addition, though the base building was somewhat limited, it was also really nice to get into with more blueprints and features to dig through. Also, portals. NEXT Update What's next? Aside from puns, Hello Games was in complete isolation. Years of not talking to the community, the only times they had reach out to the community was through the previous Atlas Rises, and through a sort of Battlefield 3 style community Easter Egg Puzzle campaign that revealed secrets of what was coming. Then, it was revealed. Player models, new Frigates, and at last, a Trailer that showed off the new improved Engine effects and 3rd person experience in a multiplayer setting. The Trailer was reminiscent of the first one, except with actual gameplay footage of what it was like. It was a massive sigh of relief for the community who stuck with the developers for so long, and for those like me who kept at a distance until they could deliver, and boy have they delivered. Conclusion? I can say Hello Games has indeed, Fixed Everything... well, almost everything, every Developers wet dream is releasing a product bug free and that's not the case. It is however the best case scenario, because the handful of bugs present are far from game breaking. In fact, it's very exciting because it's not like NEXT is "IT". This isn't the last update we'll ever see because in fact, this is more like the beginning, a NEW beginning. 4 player Co-op with the ability to meet up to 16 other players isn't mind blowing, but it's a start of filling an empty universe. But the potential is big for what Hello Games can pull off "Next", once they've finalized the release of this game fixing update. TLDR; No Man's Sky has redeemed itself. Not only that, but has become essentially a procedural Space version of Rust, Subnautica, and Skyrim put together... Ok maybe not Skyrim or Rust, but we can't wait to see what Hello Games does next with it, and it's a good thing to spend some time in while waiting for Star Citizen 3.4 Update. :+1: https://www.reddit.com/r/NoMansSkyTheGame/comments/91qidw/after_2_years_i_feel_like_im_playing_the_game_i/
