So while I was waiting for SC to get into a more complete / playable state, and have some more professions fleshed out, some more systems online, and most importantly finally get stable servers with at least 20+ server-fps constantly (to make NPCs and systems work), I re-installed a few other older space games. And boy oh boy, I was amazed by one of them. We all know that E:D has reached its peak long ago, and is now lingering in a perpetual state of "meh". X4 is also an acquired taste, maybe it works for me because I come from the land of the devs, but it is not an easy game to pick up. But No Mans Sky, the game that upon release seemed like a huge hype-bubble that just burst, and was relegated to the bargain bins within a month in retail... hooo boy, are they working hard on making it better ever since. Every single update I can remember of that game has brought content. And I mean real content. Now recently after they added shipbuilding of larger ships, they added more parts and the ability to salvage them from derelict vessels. I am actually astounded why such a small studio seems to be capable of making something, that seems to elude CIG more and more: A FUN GAME. SC has not been for for me for years now. The times when it was an incomplete sandbox, with no directions, no markers to Grim Hex or lots of other locations, leaned into the exploration aspect, even though we just had one system. I hope we get that feeling back someday. The feeling of just logging on and goofing around and having a blast. But as of now, it is so depending on the performance of the servers (and we all know that Amazons Cloud services are among the worst when it comes to performance and reliability), that it is a real shame. SC at the moment to me is filled with "could-have-beens". While No Mans Sky is filled with a surprising amount of "has-become-more". Are there any other space titles you can think about, small or huge, that also have sprouted up in recent days which are just plain fun to play?
