Since I don't seriously expect 3.0 to drop before the end of November, I'm looking for something to pass the time until then. While I have a backlog of games to catch up on, I'm in the mood for something more akin to Earth & Beyond or Elite Dangerous. As some of you may know, there has been a functioning EnB emulator for some years now and I do drop in from time to time so I'm very familiar with the gameplay. What I'm not familiar with is Elite Dangerous, having never played it. I've read up on it quite a bit and the more negative consensus seems to be "a mile wide and an inch deep", with lots of grinding and very long travel times. For this reason I've held off on taking the plunge and am currently playing EnB instead. However I'm interested in hearing from any of you who have played both games for an honest appraisal so I can decide if E:D is worth paying for considering that EnB is free to play. Yes, I know E:D is light years ahead from a graphical perspective, but what concerns me more atm is gameplay. Does E:D bring more to the table than EnB in a good way, less, or is it a toss-up?
