So the creator of PUBG announced Project Artemus last year and it looks very impressive. The proprietary engine they are working on for making a game this size and scope, is tied in with Unity. They are making an Entity component system for Unity's DOTS to bypass tech boundaries concerning gameplay maps and will use machine learning to take a massive amount of workload off the developers when procedurally generating maps that can have a radius of 6000km. That is an insane size for a map that's supposed to be rich in detail like the real world. The best thing about this? Even if the game they are designing flops, they plan to release the engine they are building for future developers to build their own games in. Yeah, an engine specifically designed to create massively sized games. If they pull this off, then it just further proves my point that game development is not rocket science that requires a University degree to understand and that ultimately, CIG made a mess of a product that they don't know how to fix.
