Squad came out of Early Access on Steam. It's multiplayer only. It's a Modern Warfare game. It's about joining a squad, and each squad has a composition of soldiers. You pick you desired soldier from medic to combat engineer to a light or heavy anti tank soldier. Each squad is led by a squad leader that can place spawn points, or radios called FOBS. Each FOB creates a large radios around its self. Vehicles from jeeps to helicopters can drop supply's off in the form of ammo or building materials. Then a squad leader can create various buildings, from sandbags to an ammo cache where soldier resupply from. And a commander can be voted for who can call in things like air strikes. It has maps the span kilometers. There newest map is Fallujah. But there's a canadian rocky mountain map, a lush russian farm area map, there's a nice variety. It's an absolute blast fighting as the different armies. Canadian, American, Russian, Insurgents, and they just released a Middle Eastern force. It's 50v50, objective based game. A traditional server will rotate game modes. Each map has a "layer." Each layer changes where the objectives are and the vehicles. So there's a variety of game modes, with a variety of different set objectives from finding and locating enemy caches, to compete over a linear line of objectives where losing and capping objectives cost you team tickets. The big thing to note is the game is a small learning curve because it takes 2 shots to down the average person in the chest. You'll die very suddenly. The game plays surprisingly realistic. A tank is a tank. But vehicle are limited. If you lose one it has a respawn timer. There is a long respawn timer. Your soldier will have bandages to heal your self but their limited. You can also use them to pick up downed soldier. You'll die if you get shot in the head or if a Huge High Explosion goes off next to you. A medic can pick up people faster and heal them, because you have a 100 point life bar, but you don't see that in the form of a bar. There's a minimal hud thats displays stamina and health. The better your computer the better the game. I have a great surround system so that helps a lot! You don't just jump in and fight. You spawn at a base outside where most of the fighting happens. Some of these maps are huge so you need vehicles to drive to the objectives. Now some modes are kept in small sections of the map with smaller out of bounds areas so the "layer' for that game mode might not have a lot of vehicles because you just arent going very far. And the vehicles! They've got a lot. I'm gonna stop spoiling it all. If you like shooting games and you like a bit of a realistic feel you'll really like this. There's a lot of fun weapons. The game can be very slow paced. Sometimes your truck blows up and you have to run for 5 minutes. Only to run somewhere else for 5 more minutes. Watch some videos and you'll see what it's like. Just ask your Squad leader where to spawn when you join a Squad. And never spawn right away. Ask first because when you die that's a ticket. Only way to respawn is to die. So if you spawn in the wrong place it could a huge run and you'd rather just find a way to die so you can respawn, and then your team loses later by 1 life. And that happens a lot. Even with 300 tickets on each side. Every life matters its great.
