Around half an hour ago No Man's Sky released its newest 6.0 update "Voyagers" and with it they casually dropped not only scratch-buildable, larger ships like Starfield has, but they also feature fully fleshed out, customizable interiors, without any loading screens or whatever. In other words it's one of the key features that made SC unique. Oh right and seamless EVA activity, they have that too now. All that from a dev studio that doesn't even have 50 people (according to wikipedia) and is also working on a second game at the same time. Now I'm not saying NMS is going to kill SC, but I think the writing's on the wall here. Other games can and will eventually catch up to it and maybe even overtake it sooner or later. Especially because the stuff in NMS is in a state that is miles ahead in terms of stability/playability compared to SC which hasn't had a single release ever that wasn't riddled with major bugs. Personally I really hope there will be even more games that start competing with SC in terms of tech and scope, because I think a healthy dose of competition is exactly what CIG needs to stop slacking with the PU.
